Synopsis:
East Berlin, 1983. For those desperate enough to flee Communist East Germany, the
Berlin Wall is not just the line between East and West…but also between freedom and
death. Driven by the desire to be free, two friends, Gunter and Hans, try to escape
through the Berlin Wall. Yet Hans wavers at the last moment and flees back into the
East. Soon he is hounded by a police investigation and eventually forced into the
military. Stationed as a border guard at the Berlin Wall, Hans is pressured to choose
between his own conscience and his forced duty. Soon he must make the terrible
decision between murder and treason--to either fire upon his own countrymen who try
to escape, or risk death to escape to freedom.
